What is Acupuncture?

Acupuncture originated in China first written record was over three thousand years ago.  It is based on the belief that health is determined by a balanced flow of qi or chi, the vital life energy present in all living organisms.  According to acupuncture theory, qi circulates in the body along twelve primary pathways, called meridians, each linked to specific internal organs and organ systems.  When the flow of the qi is blocked either by traumas, toxins, or thoughts, then discomfort or diseases will occur.

A trained acupuncturist will perform diagnosis, exam by observing patient’s tongue, taking pulses and palpation to determine the proper treatment points.  He or she will use a highly polished, stainless steel, surgical grade, disposal needles.

What is Auricular Acupuncture?

Ear is consider a micro-system of the body, therefore, acupuncturist utilize ear points to help patients for thousand years as well.  The past fifty years, there are more research regarding ear acupuncture which it has proven help various health issue.  One of the most research is helping PTSD (Post Trauma Stress Disorder).
